When the sky burns alizarin and the last light pushes through petals, "Crimson Eventide" finds its moment — the third canvas in my Blossoms Across Time series. The composition features dozens of individually hand-outlined blossoms that gather into a dense canopy above a real lichen-covered tree. The real bark trunk provides tactile relief; bits of natural moss and lichen create shadow and depth against the cadmium-yellow sunset that glows through the foliage. 🌸🌕🪵
Materials include archival canvas, acrylic paint and linework, with an adhered natural bark, lichen and moss. The piece leans on Ukiyo-e influenced line and marks — a conversation between traditional stroke rhythm and pressed texture. Each blossom was placed with intention; each layer encourages slow looking and reflection.
